Take Hold of God. He Wants to Take Hold of You!

As you begin each day, determine that God's love will guide what you say and how you think.  Strive to live with truth in your inner being. You—you and God—are the only ones who know what’s in your heart. Live in honesty and truth.  Know that God's goodness and mercy follow you.  Enlarge your vision, increasing your capacity to receive so that you can take hold of the blessings He has in store for you!

Let God Help You See Beyond Your Circumstances

"Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Faith is not seeing, but believing. Down through the ages, there have always been those who obeyed the heavenly vision, not seeing but believing in God. And their faith was rewarded. So shall it be to you. Good things will happen to you. You cannot see God, but you can see the results of faith in human lives, changing them from defeat to victory. God's grace is available to all who have faith - not seeing, but believing. With faith, life can be victorious and happy."

"Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed."

"Today, don’t just pray for improvement in your difficult situation, pray for deliverance from it! See beyond your circumstances and let God lead you out into the place of victory and abundance!"

You're Too Hard On Yourself

How many times have I been told this.  I'm sure some of you can relate.  Always working for perfection, an overachiever who didn't want to produce any work that was less than stellar---always hard on myself if there was any room for improvement in my work, feeling like if there was that I had fallen short and produced a less than perfect project.

Over the years after many years of beating myself up and stressing out over things like this, I finally listened as I continued to hear friends and family close to me say the same thing.  "Dwight, your work is outstanding.  No one is perfect.  You need to stop being so hard on yourself, lighten up and give yourself a break."  It took years for this to finally sink in.  Not that I stopped striving to be my best; but, I stopped being so hard on myself and realized there is always room for improvement.  This carried over into my entire life.  If I was having family or friends over for dinner, I wore myself out to make everything perfect, rather than lightening up and enjoying the time we had together.  With God's help this has drastically improved, not 100%, but much better.

I've learned God doesn't expect perfection, just that we do our best---aiming for perfection; but, being ok if we miss the mark.  I've learned we are all humans and make mistakes and fall short.  That's where remaining teachable comes into play in parallel with knowing we are covered by God's grace and He loves us with an unending love in spite of how good our performance is or if we fall short.  Today, lighten up on yourself and realize God's love and  grace are unending and available to us all 24 x 7, which is the Hope we have in Him!  With God's help lighten up and give yourself a break.

Let God Fix It!

God can be your shield. Then no problems of the world can harm you. Between you and all scorn and indignity from others is your trust in God, like a shining shield. Nothing can then have the power to spoil your inward peace. With this shield, you can attain this inward peace quickly, in your surroundings as well as in your heart. With this inward peace, you do not need to resent the person who troubles you. Instead, you can overcome the resentment in your own mind, which may have been aroused by that person.

This can be easier said than done if their have been multiple repetitive offences that have caused you harm.  It's like justifiable anger when you've been told time and again you can trust the person only to have your back stabbed again.  Turn it over to God and let Him deal with the situation and those involved to ultimately restore peace and forgiveness to the family again.  In the interim God will help you walk in peace individually until the overall issue is resolved.

Today, I pray that I may strive for inward peace. I pray that I may not be seriously upset, no matter what happens around me.

God Will Never Betray You!

"Life is more difficult and empty without someone or something to trust and believe in."

" BETRAYAL:  backstabbing;  one way to your face, another behind your back.  the breaking or violation of trust, or confidence that produces moral and psychological conflict within a relationship amongst individuals;  to be false or disloyal to; to have someone you trust turn on you; Two-faced; Disloyal; talks about or gossips behind your back revealing things you've asked be kept in confidence.  "

If you are feeling this way, maybe feeling betrayed by a family member or friend, remember people will let you down.  As sad as the reality is, it's often those closest who end up crucifying and betraying  us the most.

Not with God.  He is the same yesterday, today and forever.  He will never leave or forsake you.  If you've been betrayed, hurt and crucified by ones you've  held close, run  to Him today.  Turn it over to Him.  Let Him comfort and reassure you.  Let Him be the foundation and confidant you seek knowing that He will never let you down or fail you.

He has a way of putting the right people in the right place at the right tine.  He has good plans for your life and is working behind the scenes on your behalf to take care of everything that concerns you and take you to greater places of blessing and victory He has in store!  You may have to put healthy boundaries in place to prevent future hurts from people; but,  with God, no boundaries are required.  Trust Him and lean on Him today.  He will never fail or hurt you!

When we come to believe in “God” we realize that we are not alone. We don’t have to do it all ourselves. When we put our trust in God we don't have to worry about being let down or betrayed!

No More Voids

"So many of us are caught up in such a busy pace of life that we feel we don’t have time for the basic things like dinner with our family, time to talk to our spouse, or quiet time to unwind and reflect. What is the problem? Often the problem is that we are caught in a never-ending search for more material things than our income can comfortably afford. In modern life, we are daily subjected to well-crafted advertising that tells us we would be happy if we bought another alluring item."

"Material success provides momentary pleasures but doesn't leave us with lasting happiness. We've all experienced the rush to buy another "toy," certain an inner void would be filled. Soon, we were tired of it and looking for another distraction.  We are now learning how to fill those voids with genuine sustenance as the foundation for our life continues to be built in a secure relationship with God."

Today, I will be grateful for what God has blessed me with, living in an awareness that only He can truly fill the void in my life!

He's A Way-Maker

A lot of times, we have our own ideas about how things should work out in life. But God’s ways are not our ways.  With God, you don’t have to figure everything out. All you have to do is believe. In fact, we are told to “Lean not to your own understanding.”

Sometimes there is no logical solution for what we may be facing. Turn your mind off and your faith on. If you’re constantly trying to figure out how things are going to work out, that can lead you to be discouraged, depressed and frustrated as in your own minds eye you may not see a workable solution.

Exercise your faith in God believing Him for the answers to the unanswered questions and solutions for the life challenges that may face you.    Just because you don’t see a way doesn’t mean that God doesn’t have a way.  His ways are higher!  Exercise your faith knowing that today He is working behind the scenes for your good!

"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts."

God Won't Allow More On You Than You Can Handle!

" God never allows more on us than we can handle! "   I know sometimes we probably wonder right?

There have been times in my life that I have wondered---'How much more God?'  In the end it has always worked out and I've always come through the situations and circumstances strengthened on the other side.  I didn't have immediate answers not did I know how things were going to work out; but, God did and things did work out better than I could have imagined!

" Everything that happens in our lives is for a reason and for the sake of our own growth!  What a comfort to know we are watched over at all times by Him and that He will never 'leave or forsake' us nor allow more on us than we can bear! "

Confession and Forgiveness Keeps Us Healthy!

"Doctors say a lot of people could leave the hospital today if they knew how to get rid of guilt or resentment over things they've done to others and things others have done to them." One of the saddest things I witnessed was at a funeral when I heard the sibling of the deceased say "if only I had told her more that I loved her."  Of course then, it was too late.

"Ask God to bring to light things you may need to be forgiven for that you've been sitting on, re-pressing or ignoring.  Things that have held you back.  As God reveals things to you ask His forgiveness. Then pray about any resentment and bitterness you are holding against people who have hurt you. Ask God to help you forgive those people so you can move on to better health and the greater plans and purpose He has for your life.  Don't look around 20  years from now and find yourself in the same place you are today, simply because you couldn't or wouldn't forgive and move forward!  Today forgive, be forgiven and be set free to be all God would have you be and be the positive influence and tool God uses to be a blessing and help to others!"

"I acknowledged my shortcomings to You, and my iniquity I did not hide. I said, I will confess my transgressions to the Lord [continually unfolding the past till all is told]–then You [instantly] forgave me the guilt and iniquity of many years and freed me to be who you'd have me be!"

"Nothing is hidden from God-this can be either terrifying or comforting. Our thoughts are an open book to him. Because he knows even our motives, we have no place to hide, no way to pretend we can get away with things hidden. But that very knowledge also gives us great comfort. We don't have to impress God or put up a false front. Instead, we can trust God to help us work through our weaknesses in order to serve Him as He has planned. When we truly follow God, living in His grace and forgiveness, He rewards our efforts and will take us to places of blessing we never imagined possible."

Look At Your Problems In The Light Of God's Power!

We too can be confident that God listens to our prayers and answers when we call on Him. Sometimes we think that God will not hear us because we have fallen short of His high standards for holy living. But if we have believed and trusted Him for His grace and salvation, by His grace we are forgiven and He hears us when we call on His name!

When you feel as though your prayers are bouncing off the ceiling, remember that as a believer you have been set apart by God and that He loves you. He hears and answers, although His answers may not be what you expect. They are often better than we could have imagined.

Today, look at your problems in the light of God's power instead of looking at God in the shadow of your problems.

Look At What's Right For A Change!

I read of a lady who was always being told what was wrong with her by her friends and those close.  One day feeling insecure and beaten down  she began to ask herself the  question: "What's right with me?  The more answers she found to that question, the better she liked herself, the less beaten down she felt and the better she liked herself, the more she was able to see her good qualities.

Our good points may seem undesirable to others, but that's not our fault. Often it makes others feel better than or more powerful, to focus on your issues instead of their own---redirecting the focus off their own shortcomings and pointing out yours.  Seeming scholars in life who have it all figured out yet they can't see their own issues for being so busy looking at everyone else's (they can't see the forest for the trees.).

We all have good qualities and God given gifts and talents.  Use them!    Don't let others beat you down.  God created you and loves you.  After all your confidence rest in Him and His acceptance, not man.  Once we maintain emotional sobriety where we are good regardless of others opinions of us, who's around or not, etc., we are free to be more of who God would have us be and able to focus in more on what He'd have us be doing.

Today, take criticism with a grain of salt.  Change what God leads you to change and accept what you can't, leaving it in His hands knowing He loves you just the same!  Today, instead of looking at all that's wrong with you and your life, let God help you see what's right with you and in your life and how you can be a little better version of you today than yesterday.

Make Room for God's Goodness

When you wake up in the morning, do you expect the goodness of God in your life? Do you set the tone of the day for success, favor and blessing?

Stay determined to set the tone for each new day by speaking words of faith over your future. As you do, you’ll enlarge your vision and make room for God to do amazing things in every area of your life!

One Day at a Time

" Do not worry about tomorrow! This is not a suggestion, but a command. God divided time into days and nights, so that you would have manageable portions of life to handle. His grace is sufficient for you, but its sufficiency is for one day at a time. When you worry about the future, you heap day upon day of troubles onto your frame which was not built to carry more than a day at a time. You stagger under this heavy load, which God never intended you to carry---He will carry it for you if you will let Him. "

" Throw off this oppressive burden with one quick thrust of Trust. Anxious thoughts meander about and crisscross in your brain, but trusting God brings you directly into His Presence. As you affirm your faith and give Him your cares, concerns and worries, shackles of worry fall off instantly. Enjoy His Presence continually by trusting Him at all times, assured He will see you through and meet your every need! "

How Will You Respond?

The way you respond to your personal struggles shows your attitude toward God. Rather than becoming angry or bitter with God, continue to trust him with faith and gratitude, no matter what your circumstances may be.

Although it is sometimes difficult to see, God IS in control and working behind the scenes on your behalf.  Commit yourselves and your concerns to Him and do not lose heart, grow weary or resent His perfect timing.  "In His time, He makes all things beautiful---in His time!"  Wait patiently in God knowing He's got you and all that concerns you.

When His answers and provisions spring forth, you'll be glad you did as the answers and outcomes He provides are often far better than we could have dreamed or imagined!  Today, I'm reminded that God is bigger than anything I may face and is not surprised by life's challenges!  God is also not mad at you or me!

MAKE ROOM FOR GOD'S BLESSINGS

God continuously wants to do new and incredible things in our lives!  He has new seasons of goodness in store for us all. When we get in agreement with God, standing on His promises, following His lead and working to be who He'd have us be, that’s when things will change in our life.

Negative thoughts, words, actions or deeds of self-will get in the way and block  us from God's spirit.

Today, lay claim to the blessings God has in store for your life.  Make your needs known to Him for He wants to meet  them.  It's a new day,a new season, a new year and with God's help it can be a new you!

Where Does Your Confidence Rest

We need people, but we know it is God working through people to help us. We look to God to meet our needs, not people. If He decides to change who He works through, that should be no concern of ours. My confidence must be in Him more than it is in anything or anyone else.

"And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation]."

You Can't Draw Roadmaps for God

"I’ve found that you can’t draw road maps for God. I’ve tried that.”

The attempt to control is such a predictable human response to every situation, regardless of age. Fortunately, the serenity that develops when we give up our control makes letting God be in charge rather appealing, but most of us have spent decades learning and then relearning this.

I can be as peaceful as I make the choice to be today.  Letting Go and letting God handle all my affairs is the way.

I'm Ok! I'm on My Way!"

"And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you. "

God is the only one who can perfect the good work He has started in your life, but it takes some time. And during the process He wants you to recognize you are making progress. So give yourself a break and say, “I’m okay and I’m on my way!”

Contentment

"I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.”

"Freedom comes when you say, “God, I’m turning it all over to You. You know my desires and what’s best for me. I’m choosing to trust You and Your timing.”

When we learn to be content whatever the circumstances, it takes away the power of the enemy and his ability to frustrate us. Not only that, but by our actions, we are showing our faith in God. When you choose to trust His timing, you can live in peace, you can live in joy, and you can rest in Him knowing that He has good things in store for your future. Today, find freedom in contentment and rest in His everlasting peace.

"Let Me show you My way for you this day. I guide you continually, so you can relax and enjoy My Presence in the present. Living well is both a discipline and an art. Concentrate on staying close to Me, the divine Artist. Discipline your thoughts to trust Me as I work My ways in your life. Pray about everything; then, leave outcomes up to Me. Do not fear My will, for through it I accomplish what is best for you. Take a deep breath and dive into the depths of absolute trust in Me and My everlasting arms!"

Transfer "IT" to God's Shoulders

Learn daily the lesson of trust and calm in the midst of the storms of life. Whatever sorrow or difficulty the day may bring, God's command to you is the same. Be grateful, humble, calm, and loving to all people. Leave each soul the better for having met you or heard you. For all kinds of people, this should be your attitude: a loving desire to help and an infectious spirit of calmness and trust in God. You have the answer to loneliness and fear, which is calm faith in the goodness of God and his greater purpose for your life, knowing in His divine time, He will bring it to fruition.

"As you spend time “soaking” in My Presence, you are energized and lightened. Through communing with Me, you transfer your heavy burdens to My strong shoulders."
