Never doubt in the dark what God told you in the light. God has everything you need and is working for good on your behalf.  His power and grace are always available to you.  His strength and loving presence are sufficient to carry you through each day--- regardless!

Decisions. Waiting On God's Best!

Decisions.  I read once that we make approximately 28,000 decisions per day.  That's a lot!  Think about it though,  from small decisions like starting the car and driving to work, grabbing a cup of coffee, to larger decisions like buying a home, car, taking a new job,  getting married, and on and on.  We are faced with making many decisions each day, some that just flow and others that require seeking God more, waiting on the right answers and direction to come and not hastily making a decision in self will that we'll regret later because we were impatient and didn't wait on God and his divine direction---His best answers and the greater things He has in store.

We need God's help in making decisions each day.  It's import that we follow his lead in our lives throughout each day we're gifted.   What about the big decisions where we seem stumped, where we feel at a stand still or like we're in a holding pattern waiting on God's direction and the right answers to come---when we're unsure of what to do?  God will lead, guide and direct us if we seek Him, follow His lead, walk through the doors He opens and walk away, not fretting, from the doors He closes.  Waiting can be the hard part; we are assured that "The right answers will come when your house (spiritual house) is in order."  Today, is your house in order?  Are you listening and looking for God's guidance  and willing to patiently wait on His direction and right answers to come, when they don't come right away and it seems to be taking longer than we'd like.

"I am leading you, step by step, through your life. Hold My hand in trusting dependence, letting Me guide you through. When you try to figure out the future, you are grasping at things that are Mine.  Don't worry or doubt; but, remember My promises to care for you---to fulfill the great plans I have for your life---as you follow my lead.  Whenever you find yourself worrying about the future, grab your faith and cast your cares on Me, asking for my divine guidance. I will show you the next step forward, and the one after that, and the one after that. Relax and enjoy the journey in My Presence, trusting Me to open up the way before you as you go.  I have great plans for you.  Be patient, have Faith, wait on Me and don't get ahead of yourself or me for in due time, the right time, I will provide the right answers and outcomes that are for you best.  My plans will take you to greater places of my favor, greater purpose and victory in every area of your life.  Not only will I care for your every need; but, I will provide the right direction no matter how small or large the decision is, at exactly the right time and place.  If it requires waiting, wait in faith and expectancy as I unfold the greater things I have in store for you life.  Today, if your waiting on Me, while you wait, Be still and remember that I am your Faithful God and I have great things and great plans in store for your life!  Follow my lead and you'll never go wrong!"

The Unexpected---When God Has Something Better In Store!

Peace and Serenity comes from an underlying belief that with God's help all will be well and "wearing the worries of the world and day to day life like a loose garment."  Things which seem so crucial at the moment, may not be so when we pause, pray, ask God for direction, and step back, giving time to the situation, let God lead and not acting in the height of emotion---really viewing it in the overall scheme of things.  We do our best as God leads, changing what we can, and let go and let God do the rest.

"With God-all things work together for our good…readily adjust yourself, with God's help and guidance, to people, places and things."  The idea is that we learn to become the kind of person who plans things; but, who doesn't fall apart if that plan doesn't work out.  We know that God is always on the scene, working on our behalf and working all things for our good.  That unexpected and seeming inconvenient delay in traffic or that flat tire, may have spared you from being involved in a horrific car accident.  That relationship that feel apart, which you thought was the "right one" may have spared you from hurt and heartache with God later reveling He had someone better for you.  That home purchase that fell apart, may reveal that God had a better home in store for you and put you in a better place financially and in a much better home…and on and on.

"It is important to let your entire being rest and wait on God. Wait expectantly for God to do what you cannot do.  Don’t worry, get frustrated or fearful while you are waiting on God. Be at peace and rest! Sometimes allowing ourselves to rest is challenging because we seem to feel that we should always be ‘doing’ something. . So, if you are struggling, take a seat and rest. The promise of God’s peace is not made to those who work, struggle and strive in their own strength; but, to those enter God’s rest."

"If we seek Him and look closely, we will find His footsteps and hand in our hand,  leading and guiding us, walking with us and following right behind us protecting, leading and guiding, all around us."  Today, "let us lay aside every weight care and concern which so easily ensnares us, turn it over to God, doing our best and letting Him do the rest.  With His help, let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Him, the author and finisher of our faith, for guidance, direction and strength---doing our part, then letting go and letting God take care of the rest."  Today I will do my best, rest, wait, and let God do the rest!

God Is Always With Us!

"Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for God is with you wherever you go."

I read once that we are "as close to God at any moment as we choose to be."  This really clicked with me and I realized how true this statement is. We get bogged down in the busy-ness of day to day life, working, caring for our families, and on and on---the many obligations we may have in our daily life.

Have you ever really pondered the thought that "God is always with us?"  What an amazing thought when we think of the greatness and impact of this.  God, our Father, our creator, the one who cares for our every need, the one who goes with us, before is, and has great plans and purpose for our lives---that He is always with us!  Wow!  The magnitude of that should leave us reassured, strengthen and comforted knowing that He is always there, no matter where we are and what we maybe facing.

Today, take comfort in knowing that God is with you, ALWAYS, and know that you are as close to Him at any moment as you choose to be.  Today, in living close to God, may you fine peace, a feeling of greater purpose and a knowing that everything is going to be OK, for He is always with you!  What an amazing thought, comfort and fact that we can be assured of.  Today draw close to God and find Him drawing close to you!

NO WORRIES! I've Got This! -God

"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you, and He will be faithful to see you through."

"When you are feeling weighed down by a plethora of problems, both big and small that seem to require more and more of your attention, don't give up or give in.

When the difficulties in your life feel as if they’re closing in on you, break free by spending quality time with Me. Remember who I am, God, in all My Power and Glory.  Humbly bring Me your prayers and petitions. Your problems will pale when you view them in the Light of My Presence.

You can be joyful in Me even in the midst of adverse circumstances. Rely on Me, your Strength.  I will make your feet like the feet of a deer, enabling you to go onto new heights and greater levels of victory in every area of your life as I do exceedingly and abundantly more than you could ask or think!"

"His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches (and cares) for me."

Attitudes & Outlooks

"Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with His benefits...”

God is a rewarder of those who seek Him.  His grace to us is a free gift and there's nothing we can do to earn it.  It's freely given. While we should honor God, live as He would have us, treat our neighbor as ourselves, etc., those good deeds do not cause us to "earn" His grace---it's been freely given.  We can wear ourselves out doing good deeds and still never be able to "earn" grace.  When we do live as God would have us, there are added benefits that come as well.  He desires to bless and be good to His children.  That doesn't mean that we will never have to deal with life's challenges or that problems will never come our way; however, He equips us to deal with difficulty and gives us the strength to make it through, and bring good out of tough, challenging situations.

"Helen has aged gracefully. At 86, she still finds time for making new friends, three bridge clubs a week, daily mass and frequent communication with her children and relatives. She carries a positive, hopeful attitude with her wherever she goes, which inspires others, young and old.  It wouldn't appear that aging has been hard on Helen; but, the truth of the matter is that she has suffered many losses. What she has managed to hold onto, though, is her faith in God and her willingness to see every "glass as half full."

A true relationship with God changes our attitudes, our desires, and our outlook on life.  I've been amazed to see this in my own life and in the lives of others.  "But what is happiness except the simple harmony between a man, God, and the life he leads? I can depend on God to supply me with all the power I need to face any situation, provided that I will sincerely believe in that power and honestly ask for it, at the same time making all my life conform to what I believe God wants me to be."  Today, may I believe that God is ready and willing to supply me with all that I need. May I be willing to follow His lead, allow Him to continue changing my attitudes and outlooks on life for the better and in doing so, living under His grace, experience His favor, blessings, greater victory and purpose in my life.

" I DECLARE God's Promises over my life!  God will do EXCEEDINGLY and ABUNDANTLY  above all that I ask or think.  Because I honor Him, His blessings will chase me down and overtake me and my life.  I will be in the right place at the right time.  God will put the right people in my life.  People will go out of their way to be good to me.  I am surrounded and my life overtaken by God's favor.  This is my declaration! " Thank You God!

When Our Backs Are Against The Wall!

"When our backs are against the wall and we think there are no options, is when we are in a position for God to work the most and show Himself strong  in our lives."

We've all been there---in a tough spot---feeling like our backs are against the wall and we're out of options---like either what now God or what next God---maybe even God where are you?    Whether the loss of a loved one, the receipt of a not so good medical report, unexpected sickness, an accident, the loss of a marriage, relationship, job, to financial hardship, and on and on---the challenges life can hit us blind side with can make it seem like there aren't any good options left and no possible answers, outcomes or ways out.  It's often in these times that if we're not careful and hold onto our faith we can lose Hope, question God and feel like He's failed us---even getting mad or blaming Him---being disappointed for the position we're in.

When you flip the coin, it's often in these situations when we are in the best position for God to work the most in our lives.  When we've done all we can do, and don't see how things may work out for good is exactly the place where God can show up on the scene and work the most---when the only place we have to look is up. It's in these times God can show up in the most unexpected ways and provide outcomes we might have humanly thought impossible, leaving us truly amazed.  He can put the right people in your life at the right time and place.  He can provide healing, answers, and open doors in some of the most unexpected ways.  What we may have thought humanly was to our detriment and impossible is when God can take those situations, bring good out of seemingly bad, work the most and provide outcomes and provisions we never thought possible.

Today,  if your in a tough spot, know that you are in a place where God can work the most. Build your faith, hold onto to your hope and trust God to show  up on the scene and provide in ways you never thought possible.  Your miracle may be just around the corner.  He can bring good out of bad, make beauty out of ashes, open doors that can't be closed, put you in the right place and time for Him to put the right people in your life at the right time and bring about results that are simply amazing, leaving you speechless.

Today take courage in knowing, "there is one who has all power, that one is God, may you find Him now" showing up in your life with the right answers you need showing Himself strong, faithful and leaving you amazed at what He can do when you are out of answers, get out of the way, and let go and let God be God in your life.  Don't lose hope God is always at work, often behind the scenes, working for our good.  Hold out hope knowing that at the right time and place He will somehow, someway,  see you through with His truly amazing grace, faithfulness, provision and do the seemingly impossible in your life!

"It is not the passionate appeal that gains God's Divine attention as much as the quiet placing of difficulty and worry into His Divine Hands."

When God Answers Prayer in Ways We Didn't Expect

"Dear God,
Thank you for the baby brother; but, what I prayed for was a puppy."  --A Child's Letter to God

"Sometimes we look around, assess the situation, and decide what we think we need. So we go to God and begin praying.  Out of the blue, our prayers get answered; but, the answer isn't what we requested. We were so specific, we think, now this – this thing – has come along. We didn't get what we asked for. Our prayers were answered; but, we got something else.

Don't get bitter or so involved with feeling blue about not getting what you requested that you miss out on what you did receive. Wants and needs are closely connected.  All our needs, even the ones we're not completely aware of yet, will be met. Be grateful that God knows more about what we need than we do.

Sometimes when we pray, we get what we want. Sometimes we get what we need. Accept both answers – the yes's and the something else's – with heartfelt gratitude. Then look around and see what your lesson and gift is.". God always hears and answers prayer; but, not always in the way we think it should be.

He'll Do It Again!

Sometimes the situation in front of us can seem impossible.  Sometimes life brings situations difficult to deal with; but, as we look back, God has brought us through difficult times in the past, and we know He will be faithful to do it again.  Remember past successes which God has provided and know He's seen you through before and He'll be faithful to do it again regardless of your present situation or circumstances.

"And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and be able to bless others."  " The Lord is my Shepherd…I shall not lack…"

Today, find strength and courage in knowing God is faithful and He will see you through regardless.  He's done it before and He'll do it again.  Put your faith into action and see your fears disappear as God takes you to greater places of victory, blessings and greater purpose in your life!

He Works All Things for Our Good!

"In every situation, remind me that You will work things out for my good."

"Trust God to bring the right blessings into your life. While you're waiting for His perfect timing, get busy helping others. You'll actually feel relieved when you aren't thinking about yourself all the time."

"Trust God and get busy doing the good things you know to do. He'll faithfully bless you and meet your needs.  'I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.'  We don't always realize or think about the fact that God is in control in every circumstance of life and has a plan waiting to unfold."  Today, trust Him as His perfect plan for your life unfolds and He takes you to greater, blessings, victory, purpose and favor in your life.

Fear, Faith, Courage & God's Peace

"Courage is being scared to death; but, saddling up anyway." (-John Wayne).  In other words, courage is not the absence of fear; it is action in the presence of fear. Bold people do what they know they should do—not what they feel like doing.  "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people…"

" If you're at one of these crossroads in your life, let me encourage you to go forward. Don't stand still in terror; but, take His hand and go forward. Remember, God wants to deliver you from all of your fears! ". "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."  "Receive My Peace abundantly and thankfully. It is a rare treasure, dazzling in delicate beauty yet strong enough to withstand all onslaughts. Wear My Peace with regal dignity. It will keep your heart and mind close to Mine."

Today may your faith outweigh any fears you may have of moving forward and doing the next right things God would have you.  The higher, harder road may not always be easy to walk; but, it's possible and the rewards are great.  Today, as you move forward into the great things God has for you, may you find your faith outweighing fear and God's presence guiding you in the right direction and giving you His peace.  Peace that passes all understanding!

Today---With God's Help, A Better Version Of Me Than The Day Before!

"I find it awfully hard to give myself a break."  "God is faithful.  He will not allow more on you than you can bear!"  "God says not only are you accepted, you're valuable."

Today, if you are feeling burdened and overwhelmed by circumstances, know that with God, all things are possible. No person can keep you from your destiny, no bad break, no disappointment, no sickness. Keep believing, keep hoping, keep praying and keep moving forward because with God's help you can handle whatever comes your way!

"We are human.  We will make mistakes.  We learn from our mistakes.  People who live in shame come to believe that it is not okay to make a mistake. They imagine they should know what to do without having to learn it. Thomas Edison failed to perfect the light bulb until his ten-thousandth try.  Walt Disney went bankrupt seven times before he met with success.  It is human to make mistakes. If we acknowledge we are human, we are defining ourselves as people who always have something to learn."  "When we cope with problems, with God's help, rather than wailing about them, we discover that our own are minor irritations compared to those we see in others."

God is pleased with you. Get that truth down inside you. He is smiling over you and He loves you very much. God approves of you in spite of your imperfections.  God can use your imperfections to teach you to be better and to learn.  As you become aware of your  imperfections, God can use those very things as a training ground to teach you to be a better you and more of who He'd have you be.  Today, may you find yourself learning trough the twist and turns of life, knowing that nothing is wasted in God's economy.  Today, a little better version of you than yesterday.  Today, with God's help, a little better me than the day before as God shapes, molds and teaches me more each day who He'd have me be!  "Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart."

IF ONLY ____, I'd Be Happy!

"If only_____, I'd be happy!"

How many times in life have we heard this?  How many times have we thought or said it in our own life?  We live in a society of more and "I want it and I want it now," often seeking to find happiness in things external.  A better job, a more expensive car, a faster boat, a bigger house, more clothes, more expensive jewelry, another degree.  If only my a spouse, children, family  or co-workers would behave the way I want them too---the way I think best---the way I think they should, I'd be happy.    If only ____ I'd be happy!

There is nothing wrong with getting a better job, having material things, or working to better ourselves; but, when we look to these things and to others as our true source of happiness, we are always going to struggle with having true happiness in our lives.  Happiness begins in our thinking, our attitudes, our hearts and in a solid foundation with God.  The new of material things will wear off, happiness will fade, people will let us down and don't always do or behave like we want or think they should, and soon we'll be looking for our next external fix.  When our happiness is based on our relationship with God, when were full of gratitude, realizing how blessed we are, when happiness becomes a way of life as we become more each day who God would have us be, we find our happiness lasts and doesn't fade.  We stop chasing external fixes.  Our true happiness isn't based on externals---people, places or things.

Today, if only _____, I'd be happy.  What would you fill in the blank with?  Today, as you live life to the fullest, work to who God would have you be, walk through the doors He opens, accept the gifts, blessings and favor He provides for you with thankfulness, contentment and gratitude, you'll begin to experience lasting happiness along your journey!  Today, may you find true and lasting happiness as you make your relationship with God more and more the center of your life---regardless of people, places or things.  May you find gratitude in the blessings He bestows on you daily and as He shows His favor on your life.  May you be blessed as God leads you into His greater purpose for your life and the good plans He has in store for you!  Today, may true happiness become a way of life for you based on the solid foundation that comes in a devoted relationship with Him!

God Is Never Absent!

"God is never absent. In fact, God is present during every experience."  He never moves away from us.  If we feel a drift from His presence, we have moved, God is still present and His help available.  We choose at any moment to be as close to God as we want to be!

"The lifeline, the line of rescue, is the line from the soul to God. On one end of the lifeline is our faith and on the other end is God's power. It can be a strong line and no soul can be overwhelmed who is linked to God by it."

Today, may a closeness to God and His presence take you to greater victory, purpose and lead you into the greater purpose and great things God has in store for your life!

TRUST HIM! He Provides. He Knows Where You Are & Will Get You Exactly Where You Need To Be!

Even though we may face challenging and stressful situations at times, God assures us that nothing can defeat us if we handle things the right way, the way He'd have us---His way---relying on him for strength, guidance and the ability.  Use the authority, power and strength God has given you and with His help overcome any obstacles, challenges or opportunities that come your way.

Believe with Faith in God that you will see the glory of God and the miracles, provisions and answers that you've been praying for and waiting to come to pass in your life.  Do you need an answer from God? Be willing to let God answer in His own time and let Him provide the answers and provisions that you may have not even dreamed or thought possible.  Rely on God. Trust Him.  Depend on His Divine Power in all situations you may face or encounter.   Wait, trust and hope, until God shows the way.  Wait for guidance on each important decision. A closed door to what seemed best or like the perfect answer we were looking for, simply means that God has something better in store and up ahead. Trust God for His perfect answers and provisions.  In due time they will come.  The guidance will come, if you will wait patiently in Faith and for God's perfect timing.  God promises that we will never be given more than we are able to handle---with His help!  He may not be early; but He will never be late!

He carries our needs on His shoulders, making it unnecessary for us to carry them all by ourself.  Instead of worrying about our needs, let us rejoice that He is going before us, making our paths straight, working behind the scenes on our behalf to provide the answers, provisions, and best results that we need and He has in store for our  lives.  "I am above all things: your problems, your pain, and the swirling events in this ever-changing world. When you behold Me and My Face, you rise above circumstances and rest with Me in Heavenly realms. This is the way of Peace, living with my guidance, direction and constantly in the Light and awareness of Me and My Presence."  Today, God knows where you are, what you need and how to get you to where you need to be and provide "exceedingly and abundantly above all you could ask or think."  Trust Him!  Know His plans for you are good and He has incredible things in store for your future and in His greater plan and purpose for your life!

God Will Work All Things Together For Your Good!

"When certain problems, challenges or 'opportunities' arise, 'if you can do something about it, do it, If you can’t, go on about your business, trust God, and let Him take care of it. Let go and let God work' and work things for your good."

"If we really love God and want to do His will, then—no matter what happens in our lives—we know that God is in control and He will take everything that happens and make it work out for our good. Certain circumstances may not always feel good or appear to be good; but, God will cause them to work together with other things in your life to bring about good. God is a good God, and He can take even the worst situations and bring something positive out of them."  I've seen this time and again in my life and the lives of those around me.   You may have as well.

"No matter what happens, don't give up. Continue to HOPE.   When the situation looks hopeless, even though there's a time delay, HOPE on!  God's delays are not necessarily God's denials.  There is a big difference between 'no' and 'not yet.' Delay never destroys the purposes of God in your life. God is never late even though it may look like it. No matter what happens, hold on, praying expectantly and in due time see God work things in your favor and for your good in ways you never imagined or thought possible."

Pride ✓

Pride, like all emotions, has two faces: one healthy and one sick. It is our challenge to use the healthy side well.  Sick pride fills us with ourselves, looks down on others, and has no room for generosity. It judges others who may life their lives differently than we feel God directing us too.   Healthy pride is heavy with humility. If we can feel joyful when we succeed knowing we had God's help and blessings at work in our life, and tell others about it honestly and humbly, we are not being boastful; but, doing it with a sense of healthy pride.  Sick pride often keeps us from doing things because we are too proud to ask for help when we need it, too proud to risk failure, or too proud to do anything that might not turn out perfect.

We've all heard the phrase "pride goeth before the fall;" but, there is a healthy and humble pride in the simple things like a job well done, of God seeing you through and blessing you in a certain situation and sharing with others what He has done in your life.  Taking pride in or care of the things God has blessed you with---keeping your house in order.  It's the arrogant pride, the " look at me mentality", the " look at all my possessions and wealth", the sense of being better than others or living on a spiritual hilltop and looking down at others who may not be where we are spiritually in their relationship with God, that causes us problems and displeases God.  When we keep our pride in check, and have a sense of healthy, humble, Godly pride, we can share what God has done in our life and how He's blessed us and seen us through,  how He's made a way when there didn't seem to be a way and seen us through, ultimately to encourage others.  It's a sense of healthy pride to encourage others and let them know that if it can happen to us---to me---it can happen to them too!  Not with a sense of one-upping your fellowman; but, in a sense of encouragement to others.

Today, in keeping your pride in check, healthy and humble, may you find a nearness to God and a huge sense of gratitude as you reflect and share all the great things He's done in your life, the blessings He's bestowed and the strength He's given you to make it through what life has brought your way.  May you be blessed in giving credit where credit is due and remembering where your help comes from always with a sense of gratitude and healthy pride!

Wednesday, February 5, 2014

"When we are joined to Him in a committed relationship, we can be confident that He will give to us everything His name affords—and we can enjoy it.  When you start to speak good, positive Godly truth about yourself, you can succeed at being yourself, just the way God created you to be and desires for you to live your life and be who He'd have you be.  In our Human minds and the human realm, we are not always privy to all the details and greater plans and things God has in store and is working behind the scenes to bring to pass in our life.  We often ask too little and we want it too quick. Instead of letting God work in His time and in His way to do something big, we get impatient for a response, and we aim too low for an answer."

"But God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think." "You think of the greatest thing in your imagination, and God can do bigger. That's amazing!  God hasn't always answered my prayers exactly the way I asked for them. Some of them would have been a disaster if He did and I would have sold myself short if I had received what I prayed for and thought was best versus what He delivered!  Sometimes the worst thing in the world for us is to get our requests answered exactly the way we, in our Human minds, thought best.  When the answers come, we realize that when God answers, He has so much more in store in His greater plan, purpose and favor for our lives."

"Maybe you're praying about a situation. It looks like everything is going according to plan -- when all of the sudden -- it doesn't work out. Don't worry; instead, let God answer in His time and His way.  When one door closes another opens revealing that God has better things and much more in store than we initially dreamed or thought possible.  'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.'  Today don't sell yourself short to the good things God has in store.  Take comfort in knowing an unanswered prayer often means that God has something much better in store an in due time He will bring good things to pass in your life and in the process leave you amazed!"

"…He who, by the action of His power that is at work within us, is able to carry out His purpose and do superabundantly, far over and above all that we dare ask or think, infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams."

All Things Are Possible !

By God’s grace, we can do whatever we need to do and what's set before us in life. There's nothing that's too much for you if you're trusting God. "I can do all things through Him who gives me strength."  You can handle whatever comes your way because God promises that He'll never allow more on us than we can bear and deal with.

"Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition---definite requests, with thanksgiving and gratitude, continue to make your wants known to God.  God's peace shall be yours---that tranquil state of a soul which transcends all understanding, shall guard over your hearts and minds."

"Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, casting each care of your load on Him;  trust, lean on, rely on, and be confident also in Him and He will bring it to pass."  "Ask and you shall receive.  Seek and you will find...Nothing good does He withhold from those who love Him."  Today take comfort and find strength in knowing that with God, all things are possible!  Today, He goes before you to make your path straight and to lead you in the way of greater purpose and blessing!

True & Lasting JOY

Joy doesn't come from having all your circumstances in order and under control, while yes it helps to have your "house in order, yet joy comes from what's in your heart. The world is full of people who have what they think they want, and they're still not happy. In fact, some of the most unhappy people in the world are people who seem to "have it all."  We've all seen celebrities in the media who regardless of fame, fortune, possessions and wealth, make the headlines by extreme acts in a seeming search for happiness, when in reality they don't find true happiness; but, often end up more miserable and with more miserable results.  Contentment is not about fame or being well-known, how much money you have, your position at work or your social circle. It's not found in your level of education or what side of the tracks you were born on. Contentment is a heart attitude.  "Happiness is not a destination---it's a way of life."

There's nobody happier than a truly thankful person, a truly content person, full of gratitude.  The word content means “being satisfied to the point where nothing disturbs you no matter what's going on; but, not satisfied to the point that you never want any change for the better."  We all want to see things get better; but, where you are right this minute, if your in a challenging place in life, doesn't have to disturb you. Things won't always be as they are today.  If things are good for you then be grateful as they can continue, with God's help, to get even better.  Know that regardless of your situation, God is working behind the scenes on your behalf and things are constantly changing.  Take comfort knowing you will see the good results, greater blessings, victory and purpose in due time.

If you have no hope of seeing change in your situation, change probably isn't going to come. We often endure so many things emotionally that we really wouldn't have to suffer if we would put our hope in God instead of looking at all of the circumstances we can't control.  You can enjoy life if you decide to; but, you must truly believe that it is God's will for you to experience continual joy. Then you must decide to enter into that joy, which is essential to your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.  Through faith and patience we inherit His promises and blessings.   Trust Him, trust His timing, and trust that your answers are on the way and experience true joy in the process!

"But let all those who take refuge and put their trust in You rejoice; let them ever sing and shout for joy, because You make a covering over them and defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You and be in high spirits."

No Condemnation - Only - Amazing Grace!

"God grant me the serenity…!"

God desires to heal His people from past hurts caused by rejection, failures and feelings of being less than perfect. He wants you to know He will never reject you. "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."  Trying to be perfect and then beating yourself up with guilty feelings when you fall short?  God doesn't expect us to be perfect.  He knows we are human.  He is pleased with us as we live our lives the way we feel He would have us, following His lead.  He knows that there will be mistakes and while we may strive for perfection, we should give ourselves a break when were less than perfect.

For many years I wrestled with perfection.  An over achiever at everything and striving to be perfect and working to make everything  I was involved in and around me perfect.  Somewhere in the middle of this, I lost sight of myself and my progress, always beating myself up and being hard on myself when something I did, was involved in or something around me was less than perfect.  Finally after much growth in my relationship with God, wearing myself thin, and a lot of help and encouragement from mentors in my life I realized I needed to give myself a break.  After being told over and over "you're to hard on yourself," "don't you see how far you've come?", I  finally realized it was true. Thank God He has helped me see the good things about perfection; but, also to find the gifts and growth that come with imperfection.  He set me free from being so hard on myself and helped me realize that He wasn’t looking for perfection, just a willingness to grow, and follow His lead into the greater purposes He has for my life---to live my life the way He'd have me.

Now I'm not saying we shouldn't do our absolute best at work, home or school---at what's set before us to do.  We shouldn't use this as an excuse to do a sloppy job; but, we being human, should do our best work, allowing some margin for error or to be less than perfect.  God is pleased when we do our best, and when we live our lives the way we feel Him guiding us too.  Today, give yourself a break.  God does.  Let God free you from the pressure to be perfect and let Him use the gifts found in imperfection to make you better, to learn and move forward into the greater person and greater purpose He has for your life!  Today take comfort and find courage in knowing "There is no condemnation for those who are in Him."

You Make All Things Work Together For My Good!

Our attitude, in fact, can save us or break us in every instance. Gratitude is nothing more than a decision, with God's help, to look at problems and see them as opportunities with a fresh perspective.  "God earnestly waits expecting, looking, and longing to be gracious to you and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on and show loving-kindness to you.  Blessed, happy, fortunate are those who earnestly wait for Him, who expect, look and long for Him, His favor, blessings, guidance and victory."

Perhaps it's hard to believe that God wants to be gracious to you and bless you---that He has a great purpose for your life.  That's how it is with many of God’s people. Many are so absorbed by past failures, mistakes, shortcomings   and all the wrong things they see about themselves, it’s hard for them to believe that God wants to bless them; but, in spite of any and all things He does---He desires to bless you.  He has a great purpose for your life and future.  His grace is abundant and makes all things new, including you!  Why do we struggle over the concept of deserving? Our tendency is to think that we have to do something to earn the blessings . . . that we have to be good enough or faithful enough. We miss the point of God’s powerful, gracious love and grace.  Our blessings from God are not a result of our goodness. They are the result of God’s goodness.  We are entitled to God’s blessings for only one reason: because we are His children. It’s just that simple.

Start a new life each day. Put the old mistakes away and start anew each day.  God always offers a fresh start. Don't be burdened or anxious. If God's forgiveness were only for the righteous and those who had not made any mistakes or fallen short, where would be its need? God forgives.  His Grace is sufficient.  If we are honestly trying to live today the way He wants us to live, God sees and blesses our efforts.  He has promised to guide, direct and bless---to lead us into the greater purpose He has for our lives and give us His favor.  God forgives us much.  He makes all things new.  He gives beauty for ashes.  Joy for mourning.  He sees our needs and wants to meet those needs and take us to new heights in Him.  In all these things we should be very grateful.  " No man who believes in Him, who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him, will ever be put to shame or be disappointed. "  Thank you God!
